【摘要】:Thispracticecoversrecognizedproceduresnecessarytoprotectthehealthandsafetyofworkersrequiredtoenterconfinedspaces.Theseproceduresareparticularlyapplicabletoentryintotheconfinedareasassociatedwiththeuseofhalogenatedorganicsolvents.Confinedareasaddressedinthispracticeinclude,butarenotlimitedto:vapordegreasers,coldcleaningtanks,storagevessels,tankcarsandtrucks,vantrailers,shipsorbarges,pitsorsumps,andunventilatedrooms.Thispracticedoesnotnecessarilyaddressentryintoallconfinedspacesnordoesitaddressthedecisionstrategyinvolvedinrequiringsuchentry.Althoughthispracticedescribesspecificsafetystepstobetakenforentryintoconfinedspaces,itisnotintendedtoprecludetheuseofanyadditionalmeasuresthatmaybedeemednecessaryforaparticularsituation.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
